Finally building my truck! Looking for advice.
Hi! Been lurking for months reading and researching general cummins stuff, but I can finally get specific! I have a 94 suburban that I have procured a 94 5.9l 5 speed donor truck for (for a steal i'm told). The cummins is bone stock from what I can tell. Security bolt still on the pump, wh1c turbo, 300K miles. Broken nv4500, only 4th works im told. Thinking the p/o broke a counter shaft. Since the motor will be out on a stand and getting cleaned, inspected, and gasketed, and knowing that once its in the sub im most likely not going to screw with it, I want it right the first time. I live in N. California at 500 feet. Around town is flat, but out of town anywhere but south is mountains at 6 to 8 percent and 4 to 8 thousand feet. The truck will be a DD/tow pig. Usually cars, but up to 10k in a dump trailer when I go firewood cutting. The sub has 3.73 gears and 1 ton everything. Im currently driving a 6.2l, so anything will feel like a rocket. Im looking for all the easy, cheap, safe(ish) power on the table, and am hoping in the high 2/low 3 hundred range. My plan is gauges (boost, pyro, fuel pressure), kdp, upgraded fuel lines to the pump, #10 profile plate, afc mods, 2095 plug, 4k gsk and valve springs (getting a valve job anyway), bhaf, 4" exhaust w/ see through muffler, 16 degrees or so of timing, turbo exhaust drilled to gate all 6 cyl., waste gate set at 35 lbs. Stock injectors and stock turbo. Im told the wh1c is 54 or 56/60/12, should I get a bigger compressor housing and what size? They go up to 62mm for this one. Should I consider DVs? Stock are 131 im told. Injectors and turbos are expensive, and my power goals seem modest to me. I have no problems keeping an eye on a pyro, but within reason. Where do you guys think this would put me? What else should I do?

We have trans rebuild kits. Buy a clutch that is matched for the power you want. 215HP injectors will work well for a DD that is tuned. not sure how much power your drive train can handle.... so I would not go big.
Consider 60# valve springs and 3/4k gov springs. YOu can tune and get by with very little in parts cost.
