Horrible Knocking Noise
So i was crusing in town about 45 mph and my truck started knocking ungodly loud and so i pulled over and shut it off. Looked to see if i blew a line or a belt or something, and everthing was in tact. From under the hood it sounded like only one cylinder was firing and you could hear the knocking hardcore threw the intake. I then had a buddy from scheid diesel driver over and take a look and see his opinion. He thinks it could be a timing problem, injectors, or valves. My guess is valves and im hoping that since i caught it quick enough it didnt mess up my pistion, Resulting in more money to get it repaired. I then had it towed to the scheid shop. Im basically asking for opinions since they said they cant look at it for 2 weeks. And kinda wanted to see if it has happened to anyone else and how much they had to spend to get it fixed?
Oil pressure shown on the OE gauge is made up by the ECM...you cna have zero actual oil pressure before the gauge will actually show it.
When I lost my injector, the truck smoked like a freight train, and knocked badly...my oil level had never fluctuated prior to losing the injector.
