Well, in a change of events it appears the fuel delivery system is in good running order, but the operator is a little deficient. Put about 1/4 tank of fuel in over the weekend after I made an appointment to take the truck in to Diesel Power in Greenville. First tank in probably 1.5yrs that I haven't put additive in. Trouble gone. Apparently the small amount left at the bottom of the tank at each fill up was getting more concentrated and finally ended up causing starting issues and the rough idle. Truck got checked out today and passed with flyin colors. I guess I'll put the programmer back on her tonight and hope for another 140K. Thanks for the help, I'm sure it will come in handy at some point... Hopefully much later.

What kind of additive were you putting in it? I've never seen an additive cause issues... You can fill a filter with pure additive and it's fine

Using XDP now, but remember having the exact same results with Stanadyne when I accidentally overdosed the truck on the performance formula. Poor idle haaaard starts and cleared up after a full tank of pure fuel. Ran for a little over 120K until this recent event then same thing after tank of pure fuel. I really don't get it either?? Kind of bothers me that it could happen at all. Could the additive be falling out of solution in the tank? Even if the additive was doing a great job of pulling the water out of the fuel, and it somehow pooled on the bottom of the tank, the AD would have pulled it out. Last time I emptied the separator on the AD it was empty (4 months worth, not a drop of water). Any ideas why the additive would cause this?
