ok i was wondering if anyone has had this problem or has an idea. when im driving at 55mph and push the throttle down i notice a slight humming sound and slight vibration in the footpedal and as i lay off the pedal the vibration and sound starts to go away until i competely lay of the pedal, and then its fine. this is rattling my brain and i would like to get some input before taking it in a shop to get looked at ive only noticed this to happen at 55mph and it doesnt seem to be constant.

 

Sounds like your clutch is slipping.

Is this happening when your in 6th gear only, or does it do it in 5th gear also?

If its 6th gear only then it definitly sounds like your clutch is slipping a little. 6th gear is over drive, so lower than a 1:1 ratio. Thats a lot of stress on your clutch.

Only time that really happened to me is when I was towing my toy hauler x-country. GVW of the truck and trailer was 15,600lbs. I was going up a small-ish hill in 6th gear about 60mph and I had to put the hammer down to pass a drunk/or under some kind of influence driver. It shook violently till I backed off the throttle.

I would get it inspected if your concerned. Just to see where your at on clutch life and to inspect the flywheel for cracks. Im not saying your flywheel is cracked at all. Its just something that gets inspected everytime you get your clutch replaced.

 

ya its only in 6th gear that its doing it and it happens between 55 and 60 mph. thanks for some input sandman i have the truck going in to the dealer here soon
