Default 04 Dodge Starting Hard

My cummins is starting really hard, it seems to be doing it when its warm. My fuel pressure is in the norm, the fuel filter is new. Does anyone know what it could be.

have you checked rail pressure while cranking? its going to need 700-1400psi of rail pressure to start. most likly problem is excessive return flow on the injectors

try unplugging the FCA on the back of the injection pump and see if it starts that way if you dont have a way to check the rail pressure

Yeah my pressure while starting is between 700-1400psi. I forgot to mention its throwing code P0268, which is the lift pump. I guessing that's why its starting hard. So i went ahead and ordered the BD-Power Dodge Lift Pump Kit which is an OEM Replacement. It will sometimes crank a good 5-10sec. What do you think?

if that is the injectors im sure you are in big trouble because the price is a real pain in the ****. its really hard to diagnose it mate but i think cummins is right the culprit might be the injectors. anyway you can change it yourself it will be just a piece of cake. just look for the lowest price available for Dodge truck parts on the internet. it will take some time but it will be worth it to get the best price out there.

My 03 did the same for 2 years. Had to ether it everytime i started it warm or cold, Then I changed the serpentine belt and noticed the crank sensor was dripping wet. cleaned it off, pulled all connectors and cleaned them and cleaned ground wires too. Knock on wood....Been startng every time, even in Mn cold. I was told to replace injectors too, at 2500 bucks, i decided ether was cheaper.
