Cart What Clutch?

I have an 04 1/2 6 speed and with a super b turbo fass 150/150 and arp stud kit and a edge with attitude stacked with a x power and 5 inch stright to 5 inch stacks. cold air and turbo sillencer muffler removed. This is what the truck will have and i dont know if i need to spend the $2000 for the south bend double disc with hydraulic. Do i needed to go that far it is rated as a street strip clutch good for 750 hp or can i get away with a single disc clutch.

Please anyone with serious answers please help me make my mind up. would like to save some money and its getting deep.

I am getting ready to order a SBC DD 3600# 12 CB for my 06 with the Diablo Puck/Predator stack. My theory is to go big the first time so that I do not have to do it again.

I think the Southbend FE would work for ya

I dont think ya need duel disc unless yer gonna do pulls

I run the OFE but its only rated for 550 HP I believe

Here is where i would get concerned, do you pull alot of trailers or is your truck mainly a daily driver you play with at the strip or sled pulling occasionally? And with your mods you are in the 700HP range???

No matter what clutch you go to you will have to upgrade the hydraulics. If you arent pulling a trailer a full Ceramic clutch would be the best route to go. They do not like being slipped and will be grabbier than a stock clutch. But you will notice they hold up to the load that you would be puttin on it. As far as the dual disc, no you dont have to go to one but most people go to a dual disc for more piece of mind than anything. Atleast that is what i have been seeing more and more of lately.

If you are wanting to go fast a single disc is better, if you pull trailers with a higher horsepower diesel a dual disc tends to be better. But when it comes down to the nitty gritty, it all depends on your driving habits and your personal preference.

With your mods you are in the mid 400's. That being said, a Southbend Con OFE would be a great selection for you. You will not notice any difference over stock except that it won't slip. If you plan on more power than the FE but they are a little harder to get used to because they are a little grabby. That's what I'm currently running and I tow all of the time with it both heavy and light. I got used to it but so did my truck. I now need a dual disk because the FE is slipping. If you plan on a OFE or the FE then you will not need to upgrade the hydraulics as the pedal is about the same as stock. If you go to a higher load dual disk then you will need to upgrade the hydraulics but if you stay around the 3200 street version then you won't need the 98 hydraulics.
