Well, better that than someone actually stealing it for real.

I had kind of a similar thing happen to me. I was out and about, drove around to several places then back home. Sat for a minute idling waiting for the EGT's to come down, then shut the truck off. When I went to open the drivers door to get out - the horn started blowing, close door, horn stopped. Obviously the factory alarm system buggered up somehow and thought I was stealing my truck and did not want me to get out.

I got out, horn blaring, closed the door and of course it stopped. Got on the internet and found the fix, I now also know how to deal with that probem, but what a PITA this stuff can be.

I could have caused my problem, could have hit the LOCK button when shutting off the truck, but usually when you use the button the horn beeps a couple times to tell you that the alarm is armed. The horn did not beep when I shut the truck down, so it must have been something other in the brain of the demented alarm system.
