Default Turbo Problem..I think

I have an 06' 3500 MegaCab Dually with the Edge Juice w/ Attitude programmer, 4" S&B cold air intake and exhaust. I use this truck mainly for pulling a 41' living quarters horse trailer so HP and Torque is a must. Recently I have noticed a hollow air sucking noise coming from my turbo (I think) at about 20 psi boost, 80-90% load, and around 2000 rpm.

I haven't lost any boost, but I have noticed an increase in my EGTs and also my eng temp. Is it possible that I more or less "stall" the turbo and have reached its max output?

Smoke? Dirty air filter? Sure it's a sucking noise?

No smoke, cleaned the filter, and the more I listen to it the more it sounds like metal on metal.

I have the same noise coming out of my 03 5.9HO, I asked the local diesel guy and he thinks it is a boost leak somewhere on the intercooler boot... hopefully will know more next week when he gets it in the shop.

Keep me posted if you find out anymore on your end, I'll let you know how mine ends up

Pull the intake boot off and check your shaft play. In and out a little is ok up and down is not. Do you see any rubbing marks by the fins? Does it spin freely? Then power brake it and listen and look Pick someone you trust! 10psi should be enough to hear it! STAY AWAY FROM THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK WHEN DOING THIS IN CASE YOUR TRUSTED HELPER SLIPS!

Ok, I did that, no side to side no in and out some up and down But figure this out, pulled the trailer tonight and had the programmer in STOCK. Gunned it from a dead stop and couldn't get the same noise. WTF
