I was thinking about painting my stock intake horn. I'm not ready to buy a new one yet (lack of funds) so, I thought I would clean the stock one up a bit by painting it...Does anyone have experience with this? , if so, what kind of prep work and paint did you do/use...thanks for the suggestions!

 

I painted mine cummins beige about 2 years ago and all I did was wash it. I just recently had it apart for the kdp and repainted everything. Even though the air horn with no prep still had no scratches or chips missin.

 

You could wire wheel it down to clean it up use self etching primer and a "tougher" enamel paint...at least thats how I painted my intercooler and intake horn...but I'm sure there is more than one way to skin a cat
