Yes get them adjusted. Cummins says every 100k. Depending on how hard the truck gets driven, its not a bad idea to get them done every 75k.

I dont think your valves would cause that unless one was broke. Could be wrong but when your valves are needing adjusted, the truck usually runs a little rougher all the time. You dont notice it til AFTER you get them adjusted though.

My truck is bone stock and I have used fleetgaurd or mopar fuel filters ever other oil change which are about 5k miles. I'm pretty easy on the truck mostley unloaded to and from work and maybe about 2k miles a year pullin my toyhauler to the dunes or camping. Doing the valves will be easy, I have always done all my own work, just wanted to make sure I had all my stuff together before I started. Nothing worse then getting halfway through a job only to realize you don't have the stuff to finish

Maybe I'm missing something (highly likely), but my factory service manual states that the valves don't need to be adjusted unless a procedure has been performed that impacted the valve/rocker assembly:

The 24–valve overhead system is a “low-maintenance”
design. Routine adjustments are no longer necessary,
however, measurement should still take place when
troubleshooting performance problems, or upon completion
of a repair that includes removal and installation
of the valve train components or injectors.

Can someone clear this up for me? I'm at 122,000 now.

If you check them, they will need adjusted...they don't do a good job at the factory....

Ok, that makes sense. I will probably need to get on mine then. Thanks for clarifying!

the valve cover and rocker box assembly are 2 different pieces the rocker box is bolted to the head and the valve cover is bolted to the rocker box there really is no need to take the rocker box off but both gaskets are reusable.
