Default Should I Run 2 Cycle Oil In My Fuel?

I have just recently heard that some people are running 2 stroke oil in there diesel. They say it increases MPG, horsepower, better lubricates entire fuel system, and quiets motor. What do you know? Should I start running it? Thanks!

i'm sure it's not even noticable but yea i've read it increased 1mpg in diesel power, but common rail injection is not as tolerant as older systems. so i'd do more research

Run it in my '06 5.9 ..... I use a pint on fill up so it mixes with the fuel.

I've noticed it really does quiet the engine, and a slight improvement in mileage but I think that might be due to the cetane booster I use as well.

I read on another post that you need to add 2% of 2 stroke oil in your fuel ( example, for 100L of fuel you add 2L of oil) This is not cheap, a gallon of 2 stroke oil is around 15$. I had DELPHI additive in my fuel, it's good to lubricate the pump, prevent water and clean the injector and get better mileage. It cost around 8$ and it's good for 500L of fuel, it's make by a diesel parts company for diesel engine, 2 stroke oil is made for 2 stroke engine and the only think it do it's lubricate the pump and build up dirt in your engine....... Have a good day!

I was adding Stanadyne Performance then was told to run Marval Mystery Oil when I took it to the dealership under warranty when it kept white smoking and missing. I didn't when I saw this (I use 2-stroke oil as of now).

I haven't noticed any difference in MPG, power, etc., though- I always thought it would just lube it up a little better.
