have to agree on the ford not liking the rotella. but the Cummins runs well with it. Not sure why but we have run many cummins to 500,000 miles with no problems. But as stated it breaks down in the internationals.

Rotella is part of the problem, I would suggest an oil change now with Mobil Delvac or Valvoline Premium Blue. Get a bottle of Lucas Engine Break-In Additive and throw taht in the oil change. Don't use any additives in the CR that usually leads to bad things down the road.
When was the last time the overhead was ran on this engine? We had an 05 that had a ticking that wouldn't go away unless it was fresh oil and then would come back after about a week. Never found out what it was but the more miles the engine got it would change pitch. Is the truck smoking at all at idle? Can you get a video of the truck so some things can be heard and it would be easier to tell if you have a nozzle breaking or not?
