most places offer their house brand and then a mid grade and then a high grade(brands could be different depending on place) but i always go with the mid grade just because the high end ones are a waste in my mind and the house brands usually suck

Napa offers severe duty pads that all my diesel buddies swear by. They cost around 100 bucks but they are worth it.

I'm running a local house brand, their upper end. Just stay away from "organic" pads, stick with a semi-metallic or a ceramic for best service life.

Agreed. The mid grade ones are all you will really need. They do the job just fine. The cheap ones are usually really dusty and squeak all the time.
