hello i just bought a 04.5 dodge cummins and i was wondering if their is anything i need to check. ive already checked the 4th injector line and it was loose good thing i checked it. is their anything else to do to these trucks at 100,000 miles. maybe a valve adjustment?

 

Is there anything else i need to know?

 

Id run a 2 Micron Fuel Filter

 

yeah that's what i plan on doing.

 

My truck is a 04.5 i haven't had any major problems with it yet. 131000 miles i have a programmer cold air intake 4" straight pipe, and going to add an air dog 150 next week, kinda worried about the lift pump is why i am replacing it, check your front wheel bearings to, when they start to go out you don't have much time to replace mine went out at about 110,000 miles.

 

yeah my front unit bearing was out so i changed it was tight!!!!!!

I have a in tank fuel pump in my truck.

 

Check the idler/tensioner pulley on the belt. I had the plastic wheel come apart on mine at about 130k.

I didnt really have any major problems till after I was way over 200k and even then it was just 1 injector then a few weeks later the num 6 fuel line busted. The biggest prob I had was the front wheel bearing hubs, went thru those about every 75k on the dot.

 

So really not very many people have been having injector problems i am running a baldwin pf7977 is the stock housing now maybe in a couple of days ill get a 2 micron filter setup.
