Default What's the difference/better?

I have a 99 CTD and looking to get newer one. I have my eye on a 04, 05 and an 06 and each one is different in some kind of way.

Which is better than the other? in MPG? standard or auto?

The 04 is low miles and still has some factory warranty left.

The 05 is an auto DWR with 120K

The 06 is an auto DRW with 120k miles Laramie.

They are all priced the same......

The '04.5 had a bit more power and also upgraded to the electronically controlled wastegate.

I would go with the 06. More power, higher end truck (Laramie), tends to be a better year for this truck, not sure why but guys seem to have fewer problems with the 06's. This is assuming that all the truck are in the same shape and have been taken care of the same way. If you plan on doing performance upgrades to then the auto will die, it's just a matter of time, but the auto in these years are stronger than the manual. Once the auto goes out spend the $$ and get a good transmission and you'll never worry about it again.

The 05 and 06 have same miles and the 06 is a laramie and they are priced the same? Now i would think the laramie would be a good 3-4k more than the 05... I would look it over VERY carefully before buying, somthing could be wrong or you may have just found a really good deal, But I'm a cautious person when it comes to buying used trucks, but just be careful, if it checks out, grab the 06

After test driving them all I couldn't pass up the 04 with 70k miles. The other trucks were used a bit more.

The 04 has the 6 speed and a real nice interior and never had a gooseneck hitch in it, yet

Thanks for everyones in put

Dealer told me my 07 never had a gooseneck in it either, till i put the truck on the lift and seen the steel patch underneath

They just put rhino liner in the bed to cover it but didnt do anything about underneath. Dirty bastards.
