Default 03 lost power steering/brakes won't release

Was driving the 03 in my sig, had to hit the brakes hard. When I released them the pedal stayed down, brakes were still grabbing. I can pull the pedal up with my foot and they release. Also, it lost all power steering. Ideas?

interesting.................the powersteering pump and the vac pump to assist the brakes are together, all I can think is to check the fluid on the pump and if its OK then maybe bleed the brakes off at each wheel??

Yeah, the fluid level is fine. And the brakes work Great, just don't release. And man it whines when you try to turn the wheel!

But would the brakes still have plenty if power if it was out? They grab great, just don't release.

Well, started it up this morning in hopes that it had fixed itself. When I started it up the power steering and brakes seemed normal. After a minute or so it went back to the same thing

I would suspect a faulty hydroboost...

Ugh. I hate throwing parts at it. Any way to test the hydroboost or powersteering pump to see which one it is?

Process of elimination...follow me here:

Considering the PS and Hydroboost (Brakes) both require pressure from the pump to operate, and only ONE of those two systems (the PS) is operating normally. Add to that the fact that the Hydroboost controls the brakes (the part your having issues with), but not the PS (directly anyway); my vote is the Hydroboost. The fact the PS is working sort of rules out the PS pump...

I may have not explained it right. The power steering is not working. The brakes seem to have good power, but when you let your foot off the brake pedal the pedal stays down. The brakes are still grabbing. You have to pull the pedal up to go again
