i have a 05 that im thinking about cutting the mufflr off and replace it with a 4 inch flex pipe will that give me a nice deep cummings soundthis is my first one let me know

the 3rd gens are quiet (comparitively speaking) if you are leaving the cat on and running the exhaust out the back of the truck you won't notice much difference. i didn't anyway. and i had mine cut off right before the muffler for a couple of days, so it was dumping right about where the bed and the cab meet on the passenger side. wasn't loud at all.

 

so i have to get rid of the cat too i just want it deeper and a littlelouder

 

I have the cat and stock muffler off (straight-piped). In place of the cat is the MBRP cat delete pipe and then in place of the stock muffler is some 4" exhaust pipe I got for $13 for 40"+.
I LOVE the sound!!! Some drone on interstate until I hit 60 MPH (never looked at the RPM at this time) but I still like it.
