it made mine louder than hell out side the truck but you have to get a aftermarket intake that doesnt use the stock elbow with the baffels in the pipe mines a 06 truck it really depends on the turbo.

If your running with a stock intake, unless you remove all the silencing baffles out of it!! (like i did) and drop a K&N in it and modify the air box you wont hear a difference! but mine is loud enought that ive had people tell me runnning down the interstate 75mph or crusing 55mph behind them, windows down they can hear the turbo loud and clear. And FYI, DIESEL POWER MAG did a comparsion of intakes on dyno runs a while back with the same truck, (A STOCK CR DODGE!), to see what intake system did the best and believe it or not the stock intake performed just as good as any aftermarket!!!

I've got an 06 myself. Love it. I gutted my intake elbow when i took my silencer ring out but i can still only hear my turbo occasionally. Could be due to the fact that i'm running six inch dual stacks with no muffler, cat, or baffles tho.

If you travel much, you will come to hate not having it in...it makes phone conversations annoying.

x2 on time in the truck. I'm trying to reduce the whistle in my cab. When I build my new air filter box, i intend to sound proof it as well.

I yanked mine, after having my Airaid w/ Modular Intake Tube installed for about six months. Does it help in performance? Not even a little! Does it make it louder in the cab? Yep, sure does! Or, at least, that's what my friends say. After flying in Chinook Helicopters for the last 20 years, I am pretty much deaf to that frequency range, and I really only hear it while under overpasses or pulling in/out of the gates on post, where they have huge concrete barriers all around you and you can really hear everything reflect/bounce/echo off of the barriers. But, on the rare occasion that I DO hear it, it's freakin' SWEET! But then again, I'm just a kid at heart!
