Default CR or not...? NOOB ALERT!

So my title and registration say my 2500 is a 2004. The (24V) engine has a steel external injector line running to each cylinder. Doesn't look like a common rail setup to me...

Purchased new in August of 04. It's a "contractors special" (stripped) with a 6spd. Supposedly just hit the lot when I bought it.

As I posted in my intro, I love the truck but diesels aren't my "thing"...yet.

Any ideas what I've got here? Thanks.

Dodge started using the CRs in 2003 in the US. Earlier in foreign models. Do you have pictures?

They still have lines but look under the intake horn kinda in that area there should be a "common rail"

Also if you have a black plastic cover on top of your valve cover withe two plastic breather tubes coming out of it you have a common rail. The early 24 valve non common rail trucks did not have a plastic cover
