Hey everyone I'm new here on the forum and to the Cummins. I hope to learn alot on here and know I will. I just bought a 2007 5.9L QCSB 6 speed G56 with 88k on it and it runs great the only problems im noticing is when im goin through the gears every gear runs smooth except in 5th gear it sound like it rattles and vibrates the shifter from around 1600-1900 rpm. Can anyone help me with this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

Being one to one gear and there's certain harmonics at play, I'd say normal if it runs fine and has no issues in that gear. My shifter rattlers vibes squeaks and equals in certain rpm bands in most gears.

 

Thanks for the input. And you're probably right that its nothin. I've just never had this problem before in anything and was just kinda worried since i just bought less than 2 weeks ago

 

its gotta be harmonics my truck rattles in the gears and at idle but i think that do to the rigid hub dual disc

 

mine just rattles in 5th and thats when im goin thru em. if im just crusin thru it it doesnt rattle or anything. smooth as can be
