Default back fire

Has anyone ever had there diesel backfire? what causes it?

cant be burnt valves no other symptoms. It only does it cold and above 3000 rpm once its warm its all fine. The valves have never been touched its only got 75k on it. I will adjust them tomorrow. it only does it under heavy acceleration when im racing or just haulin ***.

only thing i have ever heard to cause it is a burnt valve

Why are you racing/pulling/reving the truck to 3k when it's cold anyways?

I agree, you shouldn't horse on any engine untill it's up to normal operating temp.

well i would say check valve adjustment...its a common maintence item thats over looked...sounds likey they are a lil loose to me...
