looking at a 2005 crew cab long box with 278,000 on it is that alot for one of the cr's or are them like the 12v and 24v's and theyll run forever? there asking $9000 id that too much for the truck?

 

Your halfway gone! Engine life is about 500k before a rebuild but it varies by use! Also depends what power mods it had, has. How was it taken care of?
How many trannies modifications to the drive line and any guages? Nobody that doesn't know cummins will buy it! So offer 5k and see what they say!

 

ok from the pics i saw it had no mods at all looked clean under the hood and by the looks of the outside it was probably a camper puller is my guess cuz looked really clean!
what are cr specific things should i look for or ask about?

 

When were the injectors replaced?
What mods does it have? Lift pump, 2micron filter etc etc
Tranny was rebuilt when? paper work?
general maintenance questions!
What has been replaced total vehicle?
At those miles it's a roll of the dice if your a mechanic go for it because you can do the work! If not it's gonna cost you alot to replace things as they fail!

 

9k seems steep to me.
