I'm sure you know about this but.....when it's colder out (i forget the certain temp.) it will or should jump to 1k RPMs. If he wants more than that...i guess he's gonna have to go aftermarket. Also just a thought, i know it works on tractors but i have never tried it on anything smaller such as pickups really, he could try setting the cruise at a higher idle

Won't work on early '03... I tried... not in the ecm... some say it will work on some of the later '03 trucks...

I was wondering about this too. I tried what 340duster said and it didn't work. So I guess I will have to take it to a dealer and have it turned on. Although I saw that the Diablo T1000 can change the ecm programming (and enable high idle among other things). Does anyone have one or know if it will work(or how well)?

If you have a truck built before Dec 10 2003 you will need to reprogram the ECU to get the high idle. There is a range of ECU numbers before that date that will need to replace the ECU with a new one that will accept the programming that has the high idle in it.
Getting it to function correctly may also require the correct type of CC to activate it.

Can't be enabled if the base code is not in the ECU. If the ECU is too old the base code cannot be loaded into it. The CC also has to be the correct one to end the signal to the ECU to ramp the idle.
There many differences in code bases and capability of the ECU's from 03-07, its not a given what works on one will work on all.
