Default oil pressures high

When i first start my truck the oil pressure is high for about 10 min. when im driving it stays the same and then it finally goes back down to normal. What is wrong with it?

nuttin wrong...............I dont know why but Cummins has never made a good sendor, its prolly just that, dont worry unless it reads zero, and then its most likely the sendor has gone bad all together heheheeee

i still think a mechanical oil pressure gauge is the way to go then there is no doubt

Remenber cold oil is very thick compared to hot oil!

It's not even a real gauge... The factory gauge is a glorified idiot light. The gauge is driven by the ecm. The sending unit is a pressure switch that closes at about 5 - 6 psi then the ecm starts showing you what you want to see based apon given varibles. Cool huh?!

not really cool but absolutley correct get a manual guage if you want acurate pressure
