I have a 2005 Dodge 3500 with a 5.9 liter cummins turbo diesel. The engine just starting idling high around 600 or 700 rpms. It has an automatic transmission and when I put it in gear, I have to hold the brake or it will roll off pretty quick. When I release the break and take off the rpms drop down and then it increases like normal. Also, when I take it out of gear, the rpms jump up to around 2,000 rpms and then drop down immediately back to the 600 or 700 rpms. It just started doing this on Sunday. Any suggestions or thoughts?
