which type of amsoil
im getting ready to change the oil in my truck and im going to put amsoil in it but not sure which 15w40 to get AMSOIL Premium API CJ-4 Synthetic diesel oil or the AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel & Marine Motor and what type of filter should I get i hear fleetgurds is that the one to go with

Looks like you have an 06 cummins... For the 06, Amsoil recommends the CI-4 Amsoil. As far as filter, I would go with the filter Amsoil offers, the EAO filters are fantastic.

If your gonna put out the bucks for that oil do it right and get a bypass oil filter to extend the life of that oil! Look up a FS-2500 Wouldn't it be great to go 20,000 miles between oil changes!

Your 2006 calls for CI-4 oil not CJ-4, so your choice is either the Diesel & Marine 15w40 or if you don't have a ton of miles 5w30 HDD. As for oil filter either the Amsoil EAO-80 or the Donaldson ELF 7349. Note the Amsoil EAO-80 and Donaldson EFL are the same filter. If you have any other question head on over to the Amsoil section and ask Heath our resident Amsoil guru.

CJ-4 oil is required in all 07 and newer equipped with the DPF. It can be run in all diesels but is required for the newer. 06 and older can still run the CI-4+, which is our diesel and marine, the 10W-30 or the 5W-30. The diesel and marine is by far the most popular.
I'm wondering..does the 06 list 15W-40 as an oil in the manual? AMSOIL is not listing any 15W-40 in the guide and I'm guessing that is why?
