All my buddies are now buying diesels and I am trying to figure out what things typically go wrong with the ones they are getting so, what things TYPICALLY go wrong with the 03 5.9? Any info is much appreciated thanks.

I had an 03 that I bought brand new. I drove it to 60k miles before I sold it. The only problem I had was ball joints.... that's common for ALL the Dodges.

The 03 was a GREAT YEAR for Dodge/Cummins. The CP3 pumps are stupid, nothing to go wrong with them, they just pressurize the rail. The engines are great, 03's had NO EGR, and didn't have Cat's. GREAT YEAR.
