Default Oil Preferences

I am wanting to run synthitic engine oil, need opinions on trany fuild( auto), and rear end gear oil. If some one knows capacities that would be helpful to. The truck is a friends that is wanting it done today so I am going to be working with what we can get from parts stores. 06 dodge 5.9 auto dually 4x4. Thanks for any advice

Amsoil, Royal purple,
Engine 11 qts
Rear diff till it comes out the fill hole
Tranny you will have to drain the TQ or it's just 5 qts in the pan

i been running royal purple in my motor in the 08. my buddy who builds trannys say amsoil is the best he has ever used. we put it in my 97 puller.

This has been posted before, but never hurts to repeat.
This is a nice quick reference. I use it all the time. Even though it's AMSOIL's ref. guide, doesn't mean anyone can't use it

Personally, I'd rather wait a couple days, and put Amsoil in. You can order it from Heath here, and he'll hook ya up. In my opinion it's the best synthetic out there.

What grade should i run in my 04? i do not have a owners manual, so i just got the valvaline blue 15-40, thats what i run im my 12valve. I hear thats fine, in that truck, but the first gens use 10-30 and the common rails use 5-40? so what should i use? will the 15-40 be ok?

I use Amsoil HD Diesel and Marine AME 15w40 in my 04.5 Common Rail, and it LOVES it... Smoother, quieter, and extended drain intervals.. Couldn't be happier.
