my dad has a 05 and idk anything about the common rails. he like to keep it perfect and it only has 50,000 miles on it. it is been starting a little hard when its warm and it doesnt do it all the time. not a real big problem but i just kinda wanted some suggestions since i have nothing better to do right now.

 

Change the fuel filter lately?

 

my dad is massive ocd. he keeps it perfect. he would never miss a filter change. haha

 

dirty air filter?

 

Any smoke on first start up?

 

What are the conditions (Like weather, and is the truck cold or already warmed up) when it is hard starting?
Does it miss or lope or anything like that when it does start (Like after being hard to start)?

 

i would check the filters and see if that helps
