Default electrical problems

I'm having trouble with my dome lights staying on and key in ignition buzzer stayin on. When i open the door, the lights and buzzer will not stay on for more then 5 secs. When I'm in the truck with the doors closed, and turn on the overhead lights, they will not stay on for more then 5 secs. Anyone have an idea where to start lookin? i'm not takin it back to the dealership btw

Do you still have your owners manual? I think there is something in there explaining how to change the timer on the lights.

I Can look in mine if you need

looked in my manual today but didn't see anything. the only thing i saw on console lights was where they are supposed to stay on for 15 mins. and mine stay on for 5 secs.

change the fuse.... it could be acting like a flasher and opening the circuit after it flows enough current to make it hot and it takes a lil' time to close back up.
this won't be true if you can open and close the door back to back and the light comes on everytime but goes out in 5 sec.

it wouldn't hurt to try though.... i've seen this with audio systems. they will read 12v at the amp but as soon as the remote wire powers the amp it goes to .1v or so. the fuse looked perfect but there was a small break in it.

did it do this all of a sudden or has it always been like this?
