Default My Cummins problem. Need Help!!!

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9l Cummins. 48RE transmission. I'm having a serious problem with it and need advice.
The engine idles fine in park, but when I put it in reverse or drive it powers up and wants to take off It also does it any time I stop. If I let it roll out it runs back to normal if its above 5 mph, if I brake below 5 mph it power back up. Someone told me it sounds like the Torque Converter is locked up. Has anyone encountered this problem? Any solutions?
HELP!!! NEED ADVICE!!!

Any mods done to the truck, is the CEL on?? Also, how does it drive going down the street?? It roll through the gears ok and when you hit 35 with O/D off, can you feel the converter lock??

If I'm in reverse and it idles up, i then try to put it in drive it will try and jump but shuts the engine down. I just put it in netural before changing next gears or park. When I do that the rpm's jump way bad like I reved it up and then returns to normal idle. So when ever in gear below 5 mph it's like the throttle is being pushed a little.

ok i took it to the dealership and had them run diagnostics. It is the chip according to them, they want to unplug it and flash the ECM. Hopefully that fixes it. I still want the chip so i'm going to send it to Edge and have them flash their programer. Anybody else had a problem with an Edge Juice w/ Attitude?

I want to say thanks to all you guys for your support, you guys are awesome!

Well they unhooked it and now the trouble codes are reading torque coverter and throttle control valve. OUCH!

The stator in your converter is failing. Seen it many times. You need a new converter. The throttle valve issue, depending on the code, could be as little as an adjustment or as much as a TV Motor replacement.
