Default rusty oil sustance

My truck is leaking about a half of a cup of a rusty oily substance, that looks to be coming from somewhere behind the belt pulleys or fan. I am guessing it is the water pump going south?

Yes, probably the weap hole in the waterpump is going out. No big deal really, the walk in price at NAPA was about $70 if I remember right. I always change mine out about every 50,000-60,000 miles

Are they tough to change in 3rd gens. My 94 was pretty simple but there was lot more to mess around in there. Just curious, I'm sure the day is coming

Drain the radiator, remove the belt, two bolts and out she comes. Or if you want to make more room, remove the fan and shroud.

They are not bad to change at all. Took me about 30-45 min and that was only about 15min of work time

Might just want to drain it below the water pump. No real need to drain all the coolant.
