I think you are going to find the chrome-clad wheels are a different design than that spare after you get the plasti-chrome off - if you can get it off. I also heard it's real PITA to remove that stuff. Never tried, myself.

I think you need to visit these threads.

A scotchbrite pad, some black paint, and a few cummins logos are your friends!

I know its a bad pic but its the best i got. I painted the stock aluminum wheels black because the clear coat was flakeing and used the stock chrome caps.

I just picked up some H2 wheels last week.. And after i got them home, i noticed that one of them the clear coat is cracked and there is corrosion underneath, sooo... No i am going to just paint them black and keep my chrome caps.. Does anyone know how to paint aluminum wheels that have clear coat on them???? What primer and what paint to use??? Thanks

You got to get the clear coat off them or paint will never stick and then go to an automotive paint supply house an tell them what you doing and let them give you the right stuff to remove the clear coat, have to go to bare aluminum and etch it or if you like them stock and want to save time, just fix the one,, I bet they can help you with that too!
