I have run Biodiesel and VO blends for years in my old 87 Ford 6.9L, and I love it.
But I am cautious about this fuel system. I am currently running about 30% homemade Biodiesel to start with. And would like any experiences on these alternatives.

 

No personal experience with WVO or home brew bio, but have been told to stay away from it on any Common Rail diesel. The 23,000+ psi rail / injector pressures don't jibe with WVO or any other "heavy" fuels and can destroy the CP3 injection pump and injectors. I was looking into doing the home brew bio for my 2003 Dodge, but too many people reported major problems when using it with the Common Rail systems that I decided against it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Cummins only recommends a 10% (B-10) max blend of bio and petroleum diesel in their Common Rail diesel engines.

 

Biodiesel can act as a solvent at first, meaning that it will clean everything outta your fuel lines....unfortunately right into those fuel filters or possible even injectors and engine if it gets that far. As touchy as the injectors are on these, I'd find a 12v if I wanted to run biodiesel.
