did they use the 6 speed trannies with the 5.9

After they went to 48re trannys (03), when did they start putting in a tranny with a 6 speed auto tranny

When they went to the 6.7, 2007.5

and the 03's didn't always come with a 48re, some came with 47re's. It depended on what power level of engine you got.

thx, thats what I thought but I saw a 06 advertised with a 6 speed auto and thought it was BS

Yeah the SO motors had the 47re and the HO had the 48re

not exactly, the early '03 (prior to Jan '03 build date) had the 47re. anything built after Jan 1 '03 has a 48re regardless of hp and are considered '03.5's. there are a few '03s with the 48re though(mostly Dec 02 Build date trucks).
