First off, it's torque chirp.

secondly, if you depress the clutch as you shut down it is much less violent.

Now that I have never tried, I'll do that next time. My wife actually likes the shake though... maybe it's the vibrations in the seat?

On some of the Dmaxs the chirp was thanks to the paint on the belts (parts #s and such).

My truck chirps like crazy.. I run a Gates belt, but its not a factory size belt, because I have an engine driven air compressor on my truck, which made for a smaller serp. belt. It chirps, and I like it.

did ya tell her that she wouldn't have to worry about that stuff if she'd stay in the kitchen where she belongs??
