Default 48RE giving up the ghost?

Now that I have solved the popped plastic intercooler issue, and have regained my stupid power from the stupid pedal, and find that my slushbox can't handle it. I'm getting a high-rev pause between second and third with moderate acceleration. It shifts fine when I'm light on the pedal, so I'm REALLY staying out of the pedal right now.

What are my options for beefing this trans up to make it hold the power?

I had the same issue with mine about a year ago, it suddenly would slip in 2nd. I got lucky. I decided to do the front band adjustment before ordering a tranny and it's been fine since, even with some hard runs. Yeah, I got real lucky.

Sounds like I need to learn how to do a band adjustment.

Last thing I want to do is torch this tranny. I have to really watch my shift points and check my boost guage, I've noticed that anything over 15psi causes a slow shift, anything below is a good solid shift. That's aggravating though because I'll hit and hold 20+psi just pulling out into normal traffic in town.

Having 35's back on isn't helping matters either.
