So my friends truck wont start it is a 04.5. It started by it dieing all the time but we could get it to crank again then the other day it was done and wouldnt start again. We thought that maybe when a friend of his borrowed it he put gas into it. Drained everything and put diesel back into it but still wouldnt start. So we changed the fuel filter and it started and ran for a few seconds and died. Then when ever we take the filter out and put it back in it will start then die. disconnected the feed line to the CP3 and cranked but go no diesel coming out of it. Would this be a dead lift pump?? Does the 04.5 have one?? Any help would be greatly apreciated.

 

Lift pump is mounted up by the fuel filter. That's if he didn't have the dealer stick it in the fuel tank.

upgraded pump of sorts i expect...please advise....
