Default Tuning and turbo time!

Ok! So have everything except clutch in now, built as follows:
Ad165
II 125hp sticks
Fleece 2nd gen swap 463/80/.90
(Need to verify its not the 467. This new turbo is freaking huge)
Smarty
My issue here is that I don't seem to light until waaaayyyyy high. 63 isn't that big and I have plenty of fuel so I'm curious as to why it's not lighting stockish. I have the smarty on 170hp tune with timing, and that seems about right as far as driveability but still smokes like a damn train in 5-6 merging on highway. What do I need to try to get it lit sooner?

Do you have an intake or exhaust mods to help the air enter/exit faster?

custom tunning will help. you will get turbo lag going from the stock to a 63/80. are you sure the exhaust size an 80? that seem rather big and could be the issue. i had a 63/65 and i got rid of it because i hate the turbo lag. find out exactly what turbo it is and report back.

Yessir, as per fleece website it's a 63/83/.90 t4 so super big ex wheel, runs fine at highway, will be interesting to see what it does towing too. Am currently considering twinning with my factory turbo, but I will wait till I get it HP tuned. Absolutely zero boost leaks and maf and map sensor are as clean as they are going to be. So it's all in turbo and tuning now.

There is no MAF sensor, there is the MAP and IAT sensors. That is a big turbine, so it will be a pig and not spool for crap. I ended up compound turboing my truck after i hated the lag from the 62/65 turbo i had. So i think a better way to go is to compound turbo the truck and get rid of that turbo you have now.

thats what i am talking about. my compound set up is the stock he351 over an s475. sell that new turbo you got and an he351, s475 and piping kit. you will be much happier with that compound set up then the pig you have in it now.
