Default A/c system 2007 ram 2500 cummins

My ac quit working. It hasn't worked too great all year. Compressors not kicking on at all. I hooked my Guage to the low side and it has about 95 to 100 psi. It won't take any freon. Any ideas on what to check?

Compressor won't kick on without enough freon in the system- you can't add freon in dryer? your orfice tube and or dryer may need to be replaced. Orfice tube has a filter that can by Gunked up- parts are relatively cheap and accessible at auto parts store. Is your fan clutch working okay?

Default Ac

The low side on the dryer has 100 psi. So I don't think the can has enough pressure to kick in... clutch worked before it quit working, but now isn't even clicking....

Is that reading static (truck off) or with truck running and a/c cranked? If it was off then run it and see if there is a fluctuation in the PSI

Default Ac

I tried it both ways. There is no fluctuation any of the pressures because the AC comp is not kicking on. But I did try it both running and turned off...

I bet the orfice tube is clogged- even though the compressor doesn't engage I believe there should still be movement in the system. Even when compressor is engaged it won't make cold air without the right amount of freon but still move it from low to high. You'll want to do the dryer while it's right there
