Injectors or turbo???
#11
Well I'd assume my goal in buying a diesel truck is the same as most, to haul and town with it. But I want it to be fast too. Would like to be able to pull up to a vet or a Subaru and be able to give it a run for its money. So I'd say 500hp range for sure, maybe eventually 600. Its also an everyday driver, so I don't want to burn nitrous to make that 600hp. Want it to be as everyday driver friendly as posssible, but be a sleeper that can beat most when I want it to. Might go twins if a bigger turbo is going to lag much more. Can't stand the lag. My 98 24v with the edge seems to have no lag compared to this.

i hate lag too and i got a 63/65 turbo, then sold it in less then a month because i hated the turbo lag. so for you, i wouldnt waste my money on a bigger turbo. i would just go with a compound set up. then you can hit that 600hp without the turbo lag. then you can get injectors, but make sure you get genuine bosch injectors and dont get remanned ones. then get a smarty udc tune and you will hit your goal no problem. i dont know about the auto tranny, but maker sure that tranny you have will hold that power.

I got 60 horse sticks for mine and had an edge ez. And it smoked like crazy bought an ssr and have a way more aggressive tune now I can go in and dial it down and really it smokes more than I like still but not comparable to most Tuners with preset tunes I'm really happy with how much power I can make and burn this clean. And everybody has been preaching go with a compound setup and run the he341 as primary and (insert expensive turbo here) as atmospheric and they say it'll all be good and blah blah so I'd look into that.
But with my injectors with stock turbo on stock tune I still smoke plenty so I'd say programmer or look around for a new turbo setup before injectors

a lot of companies will claim things that aint true. its just a way to get more sales. so cant always believe what they say. like an air intake that adds 23HP, yeah right. maybe if you had a 900HP truck and you were replacing the stock box. i know guys that have gotten over 200,000 and 300,000 miles on stock injectors. do you have an over all goal for the truck? that will help you determine what you need to do to the truck.
You could pull your injectors and have them pop tested. lots of options I love my RV275 injectors for mileage and towing they have been great. Very little smoke.
