I don't really need it, but was trying to be helpful if you needed to sell it, you could place it in the for sale section on here. Its rare that you find someone who will sell the engine to you without a core charge. Is the guy your getting the engine from a salvage yard?

Well I am paying to keep my engine, cause I want to build it but it's getting more and more pricey so I would consider selling it. The engine I'm getting has absolutely zero blow by and runs very very well zero sign of abuse or wear so I'm not so concerned with keeping the bad engine for a back up. If I could get that kind of money for it I'll let it go. I'm new to the site and am not very good with it all yet.

No problem here is a link to the page For Sale - Diesel Bombers
I am glad you found an engine in good shape. and your right mods do cost a lot.
Its easy to go over a budget for sure.
I am trying to save up for a BD super B turbo my old holset is just about to crap out at 267,000. Its got so much radial play it is making its own clearance .

Yea, that happens idk where I'll start with this one. I had my powerstroke all done up, turbo, hpop, tuner, fuel, blah blah blah. I'm still learning this cummins so idk where to start. It came with the diable extreme power puck already so I'll probably throw some exhaust on it and start with a 2g manifold swap.

Core 1500.! Get your money back your core is only worth a grand! And your not wanting to rebuild it nice thought but 3500 to rebuild it is just not worth it!
Also it's the lower intercooler support that gets cut! Between the bolts! You also have to remove the injectors valve components and push rods before pulling it! Remember there are two plugs under the front cowl so you can pull the push rods out or just let them fall into the motor! Then unbolt your body from the frame and jack it up put a 4x4 block un between the body and frame where the bolts go so you can pull the motor!
Don't have to pull the inner fenders or bumper! Questions ask before you break something! I'll be watching! Like to see people try it on their own!

I've been reading that , what's the purpose of pulling the valve cover and valve parts ? Is there not enough room to get it out without unbolting the cab? It looks like there is a heck of alot of room when comparing to other trucks . Ive done ALOT of motor swaps and builds in anything from my k5 with 14in lift and a big block to grand prixs and everything in between. Is it really that much different or is this coming from the perspective of people who don't normally wrench alot? I can keep my motor for a really good price but I'm not sure if I even want to mess with it. I paid 3k for the new motor, I haven't spent 1500 or a grand on any core... but yes if I run into something and I hope I figure it out quick I gotta have her out in a day so I don't keep the shop clogged up.
