Default TIPM problems

hi gang
I have a 2006 doge 3500 Cummins Laramie quad cab 4X4 and sometimes the door locks won't lock when there supposed to and now i first started to notice 4X4 low light flashing while driving and one day when i remote unlocked the doors the transfer case servo was turning on and off and i have found its turning on the four wheel drive as well when i slow down or it might be on while drive and i don't know it till i try to turn i have pulled the tipm and looked at it no corrosion? I hate to spend big bucks on a possibility.

Start checking batteyr connections and grounding points, that is a typical symptom of a bad connection somewhere or bad batteries.

Typically odd ball operations like this are are ground or connection problem. Pull the battery cables and clean them well. Check the gorunds and scrape them where the body mounting points are.

Normally with the TIPM everything just quits working.

The door locks are controlled by an RF receiver on the back of the cluster, the 4x4 is just a switch that energizes the ground side of a circuit. It all points to something not connecting solidy somewhere.

I totally agree with cerberus60. My truck is an 06 CTD, and I had the very same issue. I cleaned all ground connections and battery cables. That cured my issue, and that was over 3 years ago. Now as standard maintenance, I clean the ground conncetions twice a year.
