Default 48re noise

Had a new transmission put in approximately 5,000 miles ago. I noticed last night when I put it into drive it sounds like a chain running near the front of the trans. No difference in shifts nor do I have any leaking oil. It also does it when I put it into reverse. I checked the transfer case just in case and it was full. I have no idea and getting ready to make a 2,000 mile trip!!
