Default oil delimma

ok so its not your normal should I go synthetic or stay conventional or what brands best kid of thing. I bought my 03 5.9l used and it now has 88k miles on it and is time for its oil change. Well the dealer sticker says syn on it, but I would like to just use conventional. Is there a way to test if its synthetic or not? I have heard once you go synthetic you cant go back to conventional. Im just wanting advice on which way to go. Thanks

Run whatever you want, it won't cause leaks. I swapped back and forth several times and never had a leak...traded it off with 275k and not a drip.

The leak thing comes from a synthetic removing deposits that in turn causes leaks. Diesel rated oils have so much detergent even in the conventional oils, its not a problem.
