programmers?
I have an 04.5 5.9L Cummins and I want to get the banks six gun programmer because it has safety features and is on the fly at a reasonable price. What are your thoughts? Are there any other on-the-fly programmers that are better for less? The edge juice with attitude is out of my price range plus I don't need huge HP just more get up and go for pulling or just having fun. Also does anyone know the mpg gains of the banks programmer?
I've heard smarty is great but I want the on-the-fly programming option and I've never seen a smarty with it.
A 120 HP tune with a Smarty is usable for DD and fun. There are so many more options that a Smarty gives you customize the tuning that the switch on the fly is not a great loss.
If you want a good switch on the fly power maker a TST is about the best. Stack that with a Smarty and you will never run out of fun.
The EJ tuning makes too much use of timing and pressure, they are a little hard on the components. The Banks comes up short for the most part in the power area but they are safer.
