The automatic tranny in my 06 mega cab has been having issues for quite awhile now and it finally went out so I want to swap in a 6 speed. I know there is a ton of info out there about this topic and I've done a lot of research already. The swap doesn't scare me at all but I've run into a little problem with the transfer case. The truck I'm looking to get the tranny out of is a 2012, the tranny and just about everything is the same except the t-case. It's a BW44-47 manual shift, which is what I want but the wrecking yard wants 1000 bucks for it, and I have either the NV 271 or 273, whichever one is electronic. What I need to know is can I use mine with the new tranny? I'm sure the input shaft will be a different size, I saw that somewhere but what do I do about the electronics with the manual trans? The truck will have to know its in neutral to get into 4lo and how do I accomplish that? I'm excited to do the swap cause I'd love to have a 6 speed but need to get this figured out. Thanks for any help I can get.
