Question remote start ?

I am getting tired of having to go out in the cold to start my truck. I would really like to get a remote start for my 06 with a manual. Also I am hoping to find a system that integrates with my factory key fob. What systems would you suggest? Also what problems have you encountered if any?

I don't know the name of the system but I think it was installed at the dealer but a guy I work with has a remote start on his Ram 1500 and it came with new factory key fobs with the remote start button where the trunk button would be on a car I believe.

Do they even make them for diesels? What about the grid heater or wait to start?

On my 06 that burnt up it had astro start auto start installed and the installers programmed it so it would have a pause for the grid heater to cycle then start up.. granted it did all year round...

Hope it wasn't the remote start that burnt it up

I have a code alarm in my 04.5. It has a delay to allow the grid heater to warm up 7 to 10 seconds. You can set where you want it. When I was shopping for one it will say if it is diesel compatible.

local shop near me called hostile customs will do installs. they disable the clutch switch so it can start without the clutch pressed in.. and they also will set the timer usually to around 30 seconds in the winter time to allow grid heater cycle before starting. and they also said they then will turn the timer back shorter in the warmer months.. i believe they use viper remote systems.
