2004.5 cummins will not start
My truck started off turning over for about 30 secs to a min until it would start. Now it will not start at all. I'm running out of options for what might be wrong. Here's what I have done already. I've opened the fuel line after the fuel filter and turned on the lift pump. Truck is getting fuel there. Truck will start with starting fluid and will run just fine after its started. The fuel pressure after is running will idle at 6psi, cruise at about 9psi, and if I hit the throttle will get up to 25psi. I've let it run for about an hour and shut it off then immediately tried starting it again and it will not start. I have also changed out the grid heater in the air intake since the problem became worse after it has been getting colder (around 25 degrees) I'm not sure what else I can try, the dodge dealership can not get my truck in before 10 Nov and I need to be able to get to work because this is my only vehicle.

Long Shot
Hey just a long shot but my 03 wouldn't start the first morning it got cold here in KY last week. I have an Edge monitor and noticed while cranking my batteries dropped down to 8-9 volts and the fuel rail pressure was only showing 1800psi while cranking. I read that these trucks need 4800-5000psi to turn over. I went to my local NAPA Auto Parts store and picked up a couple new batteries and a fuel filter. The fuel filter didn't help but with the new batteries in she fired right up. Good Luck!

Kchap,
I forgot to add I did change the fuel filter and changed the oil a few weeks ago and I've also thought that might be the problem as well so I went out and bought 2 brand new batteries with 850cca.
I also have the edge tuner and that's how I got the fuel readings. When I monitor the tuner during cranking when it won't start 1.5kpsi when I tried starting it.

Hmmm
We'll I'm pretty new to the cummins world but from what I've read you need a minimum fuel pressure of 4.8-5kpsi to start. They're are multiple threads about testing bad injectors and pressure relief valves that could cause you to have low fuel rail pressure. I've read that a cracked injector is a common one. Also some flange bolts in the injector circuit not being torqued properly can cause not to start.
