I have a 2006 dodge cummins after installing a cold air I started to hear a thumping sound I believe is coming from the air filter is this normal or not?

 

Run it with the intake off the turbo to be sure where it's coming from. Not normal isolate the noise I've heard that from the exhaust burnt valve Hopefully not that!

 

The truck runs great. what other symptoms should I look for if it is a burnt valve?

 

Smoke and the noise coming out the exhaust pipe! Did you pull the intake off?

 

No smoke or noise out of exhaust. Same sound with out intake. It's like a hollow thumping I hear it more when I stand far from the tuck while idling

 

Post a video with sound. Valve adjust good?

 

I have the exact same thudding on my 95 cummins. Has any found a solution yet

 

I'm thinking either injector or valve. No blow bye in crank case or coolant. No smoke out tailpipe unless I give it the onion. But that's normal. It dose white smoke and miss if I give it gas when cold in neutral until it warms up. She dosnt like cold starts either. Kinda has a miss for the first couple seconds. Always been like that. But the thudding in the intake just started
